I
love this little white house. I love the open composition of
this piece and the grand colors, too. Simple drawings like
this calm my heart and make me smile. And then there is the
title of this drawing. The Good Life. That makes me
happy, too. Because all we need to live the good life are
clear skies, green grass, and a little place to rest our heads at
night. That is hard to believe, isn't it? But it is
true. Be grateful for every blessing and every Angel that touches your life at this moment. And enjoy the good life. How this piece was created..... Crayola crayon drawings are very labor intensive and sadly I cannot find the time to work in this media very often anymore. I regret that because crayons allow for a dreamy kind of color that is unique and offers universal appeal. Everyone loves crayons! This drawing was created entirely with crayons, there was no pencil sketching done first. And the color was layered and layered and layered to reach this luminous state of "stained-glass-like" warmth. After I finished these most recent crayon pieces, my hands ached and I had to take time off from artmaking for my cramped muscles to recover. The Good Life was drawn on a white piece of acid-free mat board. You will want to frame this piece to protect your investment. One affordable way to frame this unique drawing would be to purchase a standard-sized 11" x 14" (or larger) frame at your local home store and then bring the frame and the drawing together to a custom-framer. Ask the framer to mat the drawing to fit the frame.
