The words read:

  The winds change us all.

(Enlarged to show details.  This painting is noticeably textured.)

This enchanting image is filled with layers and layers of gorgeous, richly varied color.  Surprising hues peak out of every nook and cranny.  And those ripe hearts swaying in the breeze are a reminder that we are never entirely in control and our lives are always shifting, moving, floating about.  Time inevitably changes us.  To be alive is to be in a state of flux.

The words in this piece read, "The winds change us all."

How The Winds was created..... This piece was mostly painted with palette knives, creating some great organic textures and lots of movement.  While the top layers were still tacky, I used a dental tool to scratch and abrade the surface a bit.  Once that layer dried, I used a soft cloth to rub transparent hues across much of the painting.  And I finished this piece using a variety of traditional paint brushes to create those sweet sweet hearts and to add the lines and the words.

(The sides are painted so you can display your new artwork unframed.  This is a digital photo, the scans above are more accurate.)

The Winds was painted on a rough wooden board primed with black gesso.  The image continues around the sides of the board.  I can attach a saw-tooth hanger to the back of this piece allowing you to display it unframed if you like. Just request a hanger at the time of payment.  Otherwise, this painting can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass.
