This is a pure finger-painting.  No brushes or tools were used in the creation of this original image.  A tiny detail brush was used once the image was completed only to add my signature and the date and the words.

Every once in a while I need to clear my head and loosen my hands with a straight-forward hopeful landscape painting like this one.  I get real joy out of capturing warm light and blue sky.  And I always love to paint trees!  Trees are my guardians.  My teachers.  My guides.

I am hopeful this beautiful sunny moment with the simple instructions to "Enjoy this day" will bring clarity and warmth to your home or office.

How This Day was created.....   This is a pure finger painting.  I used my fingers to move paint from my palette to the canvas and to blend colors within the painting.  The textures you see are the result of my odd painting technique.  I pat the surface of the painting like I am playing a drum and the paint lifts up with my fingertips into small peaks and valleys.  After the painting dried, I used a tiny brush only to add the words and my signature.

This Day was painted on a thin masonite square primed with black gesso.  The edges have been painted and this piece looks lovely displayed unframed on a small clear plastic stand.  I will include one of these stands for free if you request it at the time of payment.  Otherwise, it can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no glass or matting.  Or it can be shown on a small decorative easel if you prefer.

Enjoy this day.
