Title:  Thrive

Completed in:  2008

Size:  9" x 12"

Materials:  Acrylic on deep gallery stretched canvas

The words read:  Thrive.

(Enlarged to show details.  The word "Thrive" was etched in the paint with a dental tool.)

(This is a digital photo, the scans above more accurately capture the details of this piece.  The deep staple-free sides of this painting have been finished in mottled accent colors.)

MY REACTION This lush painting is full of surprises.  Like the jungle or a thicket.  Layers and layers of color.  Warmth and light.  The feel of stuff growing.

CONTENT:  Too many of us get caught up in survival mode.  We need to dream bigger.  To grow with abandon.  To thrive.

ARTISTIC CONCERNS:  This is a brush and knife painting.  And I used a dental tool to etch in the word, "Thrive."

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:  This piece is on a deep gallery stretched canvas.  The staple-free sides are fully painted so it will show well unframed.  This piece could also be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass.

Thrive.
