Today is the Day

2.75" x 8.75"

Acrylic on wood

(Enlarged to show detail.  The words in this piece read, "All is right with the world."  Most of the lines in this image are raised ridges.)

ABOUT THIS PIECE:  Most of us go through dark times, but fortunately most of us know days of light as well.  Days that make it all worth it.  Days when you can feel Holiness at work in the world.  When Nature shows her glorious colors and you know you belong to a beautiful planet.  The sweet little landscape relates one of those special days.  When you can feel the harmony and know a deeper sense of peace.

This painting has lush layers of color and soft subtle textures.  It is more lovely and satisfying in person than these scans convey.

HOW IT WAS MADE:  I used my fingers to push paint into wonderfully natural, irregular ridges that form the lines of this image.  Once those lines dried, I used my fingers and brushes to layer color and build up this pretty vista.

DISPLAY OPTIONS

(Painting and textures continue around the sides of the board.)

This piece was painted on a board designed for artists.  It has a recessed slot in the back allowing you to hang your new painting flush with the wall.  The painting continues around the sides of the board, too.  So it looks clean and finished when displayed as it is, no framing needed.  Or it would also display nicely sitting on a small decorative easel or stand, too.

All is right with the world.
