MY REACTION This piece is beautiful and natural and richly layered and full of hope.

CONTENT:  All about strength and freedom.  I would love for this unique painting to bring a bit of inspiration and courage to your home or office.

ARTISTIC CONCERNS:  I love to create organic layers of texture and color.  Intuitive, expressive work.  Stuff that feels like nature.  Like bark.  Or weathered siding.  Or rocks.  Stuff that feels like it took a long time for it to get so complex.  But also feels natural and like all the elements have blended and become a cohesive whole over time.

I used acrylic gel with teeny bits of shredded plastic to add texture.  This piece has knife painting, finger painting, and brush work.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:  This piece is on a stretched canvas.  The fabric was stapled to the sides of the stretchers, but the staples are entirely covered with paint and texture, so they do not detract.  This painting would display nicely unframed either directly on the wall or on a small display stand.
