The words read: This is enough.

(Enlarged to show details. The words were lightly "etched" in the surface with a dental tool.)

We need so much less than we think we do. For many of us, our days are an endless cycle of earning in order to buy and buying in order to earn. With no time at all to enjoy the blessings that surround us. This drawing is a reminder to sit still once in a while. To see and feel and smell the grass. Fresh air. Warm sun. To breathe. To be alive. The words in this drawing are hidden near the bottom of the piece. They read: "This is enough." How Today was created..... First, I used artists markers filled with colored India ink to rough this piece out. Then I used oil pastels to layer luscious colors atop that underpainting. And finally I added the words by scratching away the oil pastel using a tiny dental tool. Today was drawn on acid-free white mat board. You will want to frame this lovely drawing to protect your investment. One affordable means of framing is to purchase a standard-sized frame at your local home store and then bring the frame and the artwork together to a custom-framer. Ask the framer to mat the art to fit the frame.
