(Enlarged to show details.)

(The painting continues around the deep staple-free sides.  And it is visibly textured.  This is a digital photo.  The scans above are more accurate.)

MY REACTION:  This is such a lush emotive piece.  It was a thrill to paint and it is always satisfying to see.  It currently hangs in my studio and I am always drawn to this piece.

CONTENT:  Clearly you could read this as a vegetarian painting if you are so inclined.  But I see something broader.  I see a piece about dignity and courage and proclaiming what needs to be proclaimed.  Then again, I also see a simple scene, a moody cow against a happy yellow background.  And isn't that enough, really?

ARTISTIC CONCERNS:  This is a textured knife painting with many layers of color.  Then I used brushes to add the words and create the beautiful cow.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:  This piece is on a deep gallery stretched canvas with staple-free sides.  The Plaintiff would display nicely unframed either directly on the wall or on a small display easel.  If you prefer a frame, this piece could be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass.
