MY REACTION:  I have been asked many many times over the years to repaint pieces.  The original has sold and someone wants an exact copy.  I have always declined these requests because my mind is too full of new, unrealized images for me to spent time repeating myself.  But I actually instigated this project.  I wanted to challenge myself.  In my giant new studio with room for giant new paintings.  I wanted to see if I could translate one of my smaller pieces into a larger presence.

Holy Guacamole was this hard!  The way my organic abstracts unfold is very fluid and intuitive.  They build over time.  So trying to "recreate" on from the top down was nerve-wracking.  I learned so much, though!  Wow.  And I really like the results.  It is a different painting altogether, but a beautiful powerful piece in its own right.

CONTENT:  This is a larger interpretation of a small 6" square painting.

ARTISTIC CONCERNS:  I worked on this canvas for weeks.  There are many many layers of expressive painting.  All traditional brush work.
