Title: The Stars Are Calling, Colin Completed in: 2008 Size: 6" x 8" Materials: Acrylic on gallery stretched canvas |

(Enlarged to show details.)

MY REACTION: This is a lovely little landscape. The stars sparkle with possibilities. And that big ripe moon illuminates the peaceful scene. CONTENT: I liked naming this one. I could have just called it The Stars Are Calling. But I liked adding a name to it. We all talk about fate and nature and their affect on us as a group. But we do not often consider that fate is very personal. That nature calls to us personally. That the stars sing to us personally. ARTISTIC CONCERNS: This piece is a traditional brush painting. I deliberately left some layers loose and "brushy" so the painting feels more expressive and lively. WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW: This piece is on a gallery stretched canvas. The painting continues around the staple-free sides. It can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass. It could also be displayed unframed on a small display easel. This one also shows well on the wall as it is, unframed.
