Acrylic on gallery stretched canvas

The words in this piece read:  November is no good for me.

(Enlarged to show details.)

This is an exciting piece for me.  Like the new painting Simple Instructions, this piece combines loose organic lines and edges with crisp organized lines for contrast.  Typically in the past my paintings have gone one way or another.  Organized or natural.  Seeing both approaches on one canvas makes me a little uncomfortable but in a good way.  This piece also has lush deep color.  And that wonderful turkey!  For some time now I have been layering intellectual or representative line drawings over intuitive expressive abstract painting.  This is one of my favorite examples of that type of work.  It all feels right to me somehow.

I love that turkey.

How this painting was created.....   This is a traditional brush painting.

(The painting continues around the staple free sides.)

This image was painted on a gallery stretched canvas primed with black acrylic gesso.  The image continues around the staple-free sides.  This painting may be displayed unframed either directly on the wall or on a decorative display easel.  Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it required no matting or glass.

November is no good for me.
