ABOUT THIS PIECE: Who can resist a good yak? I have been wanting to paint these two for a long time. I do not expect this piece to have a broad audience, but I think the folks that like it will really really like it. As a painting, it has some nice layering, interesting textures and fine detail work, too. HOW IT WAS MADE: I used palette knives and brushes to create Two Yaks. This piece is noticeably textured except where I cleared the texture away for the two "windows".
(The staple-free sides have been painted so you can display your new artwork unframed. This is a digital photo, the scans above are more accurate.)
DISPLAY OPTIONS: This piece could be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass. Or it would also display nicely on the wall just as it is, no framing needed. It also shows well on a small decorative easel or display stand. The image continues around the staple-free sides for a clean finished look.
