Can
you imagine how peaceful it must be to stand in that spot? The
crisp winter air. That thin bright winter light. All you
can hear is a bird crying out way way in the distance. Oh....
it does my heart good. Mmm... I hope this soft little landscape brings peace and comfort to the home of some fellow nature-lover out there. How Unspoiled was created..... Gouache is like watercolor, only it is opaque rather than transparent. I use this media in much the same manner that I use acrylics. The difference is that these colors can be blended with water and are capable of much softer, more gradual transitions. This media is also less forgiving than traditional acrylic paint and requires more forethought and more patience. (Which is why I do not use it very often! Patience and forethought are hard for me.) Unspoiled was painted on acid-free heavy weight paper. You will want to frame this piece to protect your investment. To frame your new painting affordably, you can pick up a ready-made frame at your local home or discount store and then bring the frame with the painting to a custom-framer. The framer can mat the painting to fit the frame.
