4" Square

Acrylic on a wood plaque

The words read:  I miss my leaves.

(Enlarged to show details.)

I don't know what it is about these small pine plaques, but I seem to do some of my best work on them.  They really take color well and I get some super-cool finishes on them.  This is one of my favorite images in recent months.  I LOVE this bare tree off to try and recapture what is lost.  We know he is doomed, still there is something so brave and hopeful in his attempt.  It makes me feel good.

How this painting was created:   This is a traditional brush painting.

(The image continues around the sides so you can display your new artwork unframed. This is a digital photo, the scans above are more accurate.)

This piece was painted on a small square wooden plaque. The beveled sides of the board have been painted and this piece looks great on a small display stand or decorative easel.  Or, if you prefer, I would be happy to add a sawtooth hanger to the back so that you could display this original painting without framing directly on the wall.  I will include a small plastic display stand or a saw-toothed hanger to this piece at no charge if you like.  Just be sure to request the hanger or the display stand at the time of payment.  Also, if you feel this small piece will be handled often, please request a coat of protective varnish at the time of payment.  I would be happy to add a coat at no charge.

I miss my leaves.
