This is a pretty, elegant landscape.  Soothing.  Gentle.  A reminder that there are still places on this planet where man has not yet wreaked havoc.  Places where the sun can rise and set in peace.  Gouache paints allow for some gorgeous soft transitions and this painting is filled with subtle hues.

How Vast was created.....   Gouache is like watercolor, only it is opaque rather than transparent.  I use this media in much the same manner that I use acrylics.  The difference is that these colors can be blended with water and are capable of much softer, more gradual transitions.  This media is also less forgiving than traditional acrylic paint and requires more forethought and more patience.

Vast was painted on acid-free heavy weight paper.  You will want to frame this piece to protect your investment.  To frame your new painting affordably, you can pick up a ready-made frame at your local home or discount store and then bring the frame with the painting to a custom-framer.  The framer can mat the painting to fit the frame.  *** Please note:  This painting continues right up to the edge of the paper on all sides.  It can be "floated" on a neutral background when framing or you may choose to mat right up to the edges of the image.
