MY REACTION: This is a lovely delicate painting. Soft. Expressive. Light. Open. It is prettier in person. I am especially fond of this buffalo. CONTENT: This is not a frivolous buffalo. She is not angry or scary. But she is not silly or enchanted, either. She is purposeful in her flight. An inspiration for those of us too often caught up in drama. Floating need not be frivolous. Floating may simply be the easiest and most direct route to get where you are headed. Floating may even be practical! Imagine that. ARTISTIC CONCERNS: This is a knife and brush painting. Nice and loose and expressive. And pure. WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW: This piece is on a deep gallery stretched canvas with staple-free sides. Weightless would display nicely unframed either directly on the wall or on a small display easel. If you prefer a frame, this piece could be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass.
