MY REACTION:  One of my favorite heart pieces in ages.  This is a sweet soft subtle little piece.  With beautiful layers color and nice natural texturing.  It has the rich coloring of some pretty stone or weathered wood.  Something nature has been petting for a long long time.

CONTENT:  I have come through a very long, very dark time in my life and I think the biggest surprise for me of surviving that time and finding myself here is to know that I still exist at all.  I am changed for sure.  Bruised.  But I am still here.  Still me.  I am not ruined.  I am not broken.  The lesson there for me is that my heart is very strong.  Like yours.  So no matter how dark it gets, if you look close enough, there is still that light inside you.  Follow it.  If you can.  Follow it.

ARTISTIC CONCERNS:  This piece evolved for quite a while.  Through many layers of lightly applied paint, many layers.  This is primarily a knife painting, but the words and those simple hearts were added with brushes.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:  This artwork was painted on a board designed for artists.  It has a recessed slot in the back allowing you to hang your new painting flush with the wall.  The painting continues around the sides of the board, too.  So it looks clean and finished when displayed as it is, no framing needed.  Or it would also display nicely sitting on a small decorative easel or stand, too.
