This piece is such a gem.  Like a poem or a story.  Or a memory.  It is a sweet, clean composition filled with gentle colors and crisp lines.  And starring a uniquely musical tree.

Wind Chimes was created as a reminder to be still and listen to the wind, to the trees, to the natural world around us.  I am hopeful it will bring a bit of warmth and joy to your home or office.

How Wind Chimes was created.....   After the black gesso primer dried, I used brushes, palette knives, crumpled paper towels and a soft cloth to layer colors all across this panel.  Unusual hues were rubbed on and blotted up and patted on and scrubbed though and brushed on, too.  Finally, when the many layers of underpainting had dried, I used tiny detail brushes to create the beautiful tree with her very special chimes.  And to add the words.

Wind Chimes was painted on a rigid canvas panel.  The edges of the panel have been painted, so this piece looks lovely displayed just as it is on a small stand or decorative easel.   Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no glass or matting.
