Title:  When I Was a Plant

Completed in:  2008

Size:  4" x 4"

Materials:  Acrylic on gallery stretched canvas

(Enlarged to show details.)

MY REACTION:  This is a nice expressive little painting with strong color and interesting lines.  It has a bigger presence than you might expect.

CONTENT:  I love that this cactus is prickly and round and in three parts.

ARTISTIC CONCERNS:  This is a traditional brush painting.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:  When I Was a Plant is on a gallery stretched canvas.  The painting continues around the staple-free sides.  It can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass.  This one also shows well on the wall as it is, unframed.  Or it can be shown on a small display stand.
