MY REACTION: A fun colorful pieces with layers of color and little surprises here and there. Very loose and expressive. Strangely compelling. Contains the words: Poor Balloon Boy It's not your fault, Kid. CONTENT: This painting is about the Heene balloon hoax, but more than that, too. You know that poor boy will blame himself for whatever consequences befall his rotten parents. He told the truth on TV and responded that he hid while folks were searching for him because his parents told him to do it "for a show". And because he told the truth, his parents will get in trouble. What kind of parents coach their children to lie and put on a show to deceive everyone? Selfish nutjob parents who are more concerned with their needs than the wellbeing of their children. Thank you, Heenes, for making my family seem normal by comparison. This painting is for all of you out there who grew up with selfish nutjob parents. A not-so-serious reminder that their problems are not your fault. ARTISTIC CONCERNS: This one has some traditional brush painting, some finger-painting, and some knife work. Many of the lines in this piece are three dimensional ridges. Lovely organic lines created by pushing the paint around with my fingers to form that fabulous strange balloon shape. WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW: This piece is on a rigid canvas panel. It can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass. This one also shows well on a small display stand.
