Title:  The Process of Knowing

Completed in:  2009

Size:  3.5" x 10.25"

Materials:  Acrylic on a hardwood panel with a raised center strip

(Enlarged to show details.)

(This is a very difficult piece to capture accurately in any digital media.  I create this one on a hardwood panel with sloping sides and a raised center strip.)

MY REACTION:  This piece is MUCH prettier in person.  The sides are only subtle shades darker than the center area.  And the whole piece feels delicate and fine and special.  It is a little treasure in beige.  Unfortunately, my scanner is not set up to accurately capture three dimensional stuff and the flash from my camera goofs up subtle stuff, too.  So none of my digital images do this piece justice.

CONTENT:  This piece contains the words:  Trust.  Faith.  Freedom.  Power.

Strong hopeful words.  A bird in motion.  Soft subtle hues on sloping plains.  This is a quiet statement of optimism.  A little blessing.  A reminder to always look up.

ARTISTIC CONCERNS:  This is a brush painting with some light texture on the central strip.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:  There is a sawtooth hanger attached to the back, so you can hang this piece just as it is.  No framing needed.

Trust.  Faith.  Freedom.  Power.
