MY REACTION:  I love this painting.  No rules.  Mystery.  Peace.  Goodness.  A pig.

CONTENT:  I think it is fascinating that with all of our science and all of our studies we have learned exactly how our physical equipment works.  Heart, livers, all that gooey stuff.  But we know so little about our psyches.  Living things need sleep as surely as they need hearts and air and light.  But we do not know why.  Not really.  We do not know what is happening when we sleep.  Where we go.  Or why we need to go there.  People can die from lack of sleep.  Isn't that amazing?  I also see a direct correlation between sleep and death.  Between our blindness to sleep and our avoidance of death.  I cannot imagine that death is sad or painful anymore than sleep.  Different realities.  Different sides of God.

ARTISTIC CONCERNS:  This one has some traditional brush painting and some knife work with layers of color and some fine details.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:  This piece is on a hard wood panel with a saw tooth hanger on the back.  The painting continues around the sides.  It can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass.  This one also shows well on the wall as it is, unframed.  Or it can be shown on a small display stand.
