About this painting: I know this is a strange one, but I really really love this piece. Creative folks know that the unexpected is a prize. The so-called mistakes, the surprises, the unknowns. Deliberate acts are rarely as thrilling or pleasing as the unexpected gifts. I think God must feel that way, too. I think maybe God has a special affinity for the freaks of the world. This ethereal albino bat has some really rich painting going on. Layers and washes and loose lush brushwork. It was a joy to create. Note: Some of the mat board paintings do have stray bits of paint in the margins outside the picture plain. These will generally not show once you have the piece matted.
