About this painting: There is a hill near my home with several separate trees sitting right on top. Not lined up exactly like these, but still.... Occasionally, I find myself driving home exactly at dusk and these special trees look almost black against the crazy glorious sunsets we have here. They remind me of singers backlit on a stage. Not pop singers, though. Something fancier.

This is an original Crayola crayon drawing. Crayon is one of my favorite mediums, but it is labor intensive and using crayons hurts my hand. A lot. My hand aches for days after I create a few crayon pieces. So I do not work in crayon as often as I would like. But I am always so excited by the results. There is something special about crayon pieces. Something sweet and simple, but also special. Like stained glass, almost. Anyway, I hope you like it. I created this one for some friend out there who sees the magic in ordinary moments.
